Response

The true genius behind ThERM™ is the two stage response system and the integration of planned, human intervention or (PHI).  

STAGE 1 - ALERT STATE

ThERM™ deploys a wide range of alerts when conditions are less than ideal, but don’t rise to a level that a thermal event may be likely. This equips farm managers and farm personnel with the information they need to proactively respond to conditions that are outside predetermined tolerances. 

STAGE 2 - ALARM STATE

When conditions are detected that suggest a thermal event is possible, ThERM™ takes action.

First, ThERM™ works with existing fire and emergency notification systems to alert local emergency response teams. At the same time, alarms are broadcast to farm management and designated personnel enabling them to respond quickly and appropriately to the situation.

Next, ThERM™ takes steps to both restrict and slow the spread of fire. By temporarily overriding house operations, ThERM™ takes specific actions designed to reduce the risks to flock health while mitigating potential damage to farm infrastructure. 

Finally, ThERM™ uses planned human intervention in its response strategy. In any emergency situation, time is of the essence. That’s why the instant that alarms are triggered, ThERM™ overrides house operations and starts a countdown until normal operations are restored. Through this planned interruption in house operations, ThERM™ restricts conditions that enable fires to spread while providing the necessary time for farm personnel to accurately assess the situation and take the appropriate action.

Responsive Egg Flow (REF) is a unique, money saving system that electronically counts and controls the flow of eggs from the hen house to the processing equipment. A farm-tested, user-friendly system, REF helps to reduce shell damage by gathering all houses simultaneously or in batches, REF automatically regulates belt speeds to provide smooth egg flow to the plant.

PMSI designed the Command IIIe (CIIIe) from the ground up with poultry industry specifications in mind – today’s larger houses, dirt, ruggedness, high electrical noise, and water resistance, to name a few.
